The Issue
Today, over 780 million people around the world do not have access to clean water. According to Water.Org, an estimated 801,000 children younger than 5 years of age perish from diarrhea each year due to a lack of clean water “mostly in developing countries.” This amounts to 11% of the 7.6 million deaths of children under the age of five and means that about 2,200 children are dying every day as a result of diarrheal diseases. There are many people in the united states itself who die or get sick due to lack of clean water. We need to help the people who are living in these difficult situations and ultimately change the world together.
